Aug 20, 202310 Reasons The New Chevy Silverado Deserves More Attention
The 2024 Chevy Silverado is a highly capable pickup truck with impressive performance and a plethora of configurations.
Back in 2022, Chevrolet introduced an updated variant of the fourth-generation Silverado pickup truck. The update brought more Silverado choices, more premium touches, and more technology to the Silverado lineup. While there are no dramatic changes in the 2024 model year, Chevrolet still adds a few updates, including two new metallic paint options.
In addition, Silverado models using the 420 hp 6.2-liter V8 engine get an active exhaust, making them sound angrier, especially when driven in sport mode. Chevy also adds a Blackout appearance package option on the Custom, Custom Trail Boss, RST, and LT Trail Boss variants. These are just but a few reasons why the new Chevy Silverado deserves more attention.
Chevrolet offers a competitive Silverado warranty across the lineup. For the 2024 model year, the Silverado gets a bumper-to-bumper limited warranty of three years or 36,000 miles. Chevy also offers a corrosion warranty of three years or 36,000 miles with a rust-through warranty of six years or 100,000 miles.
Additional warranty options include a five-year or 60,000-mile powertrain warranty and a five-year or 60,000 miles road assistance program. These warranties vary depending on the Silverado variant; for example, the Silverado TurboMax and HD Duramax Diesel get an extended warranty of five years or 100,000 miles.
The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado lineup offers proven trailering technology like the eight-camera setup with up to 14 views. The unique camera system offers drivers everything they would need for a long day of towing. In addition, Silverado buyers can also use the Trailering App for customized trailer profiles, trailer tire pressure/temperature monitoring, and pre-departure checklists.
The 2024 Chevy Silverado lineup also gets a tow/haul mode that adjusts the shift schedule in the automatic transmission while towing. Thanks to these technologies, the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado gets a maximum towing rating of 13,300 pounds. Opting for the Silverado HD trim ups the maximum towing rating to either 18,500 pounds or 36,000 pounds, depending on the trim.
